In order to begin to weave any flat braid on an odd number of straws they have to be merged into a flat beam (see figure 5.1 and in article the Basic concepts and techniques). Another easy way to combine the straws with braided multifilament fishing line at an odd number of straws does not exist.
The following diagrams connection of straws in bundles will not be shown in order to not make the diagrams too cluttered. But you have to remember that when you weave an odd number of straws they have to be connected to a flat beam.
