In the nineteenth century, Landseer was the most popular animal painter, not only in England but throughout Europe. In keeping with traditional English sentimentalism and in the spirit of ideas of his time about the presence of mind and higher mental abilities in animals, Landseer wrote to horses, deer and dogs of different breeds. The inhabitants of the highlands of Scotland - mountain deer Landseer began to write in the 1840-ies. He not only carefully studied the anatomy of these beautiful animals, but also noticed their noble posture, a Regal turn of the head, crowned with antlers like a crown. The embroidery used a beige canvas Aida 16. On the technique works by embroidering you can see in cross stitch for beginners.
